The M35 was a major improvement over previous models of the German helmets. These helmets were made from pressed sheets of molybdenum steel which make them very durable and the bottom flare that caused hearing problems with previous models was reduced this improving the helmets sound features.

They were much more comfortable for the wearer since they were lighter and fit better on the head. This helmet replaced all helmets in service in 1935 and over 1 million of them were manufactured in the first two years of their service with eventually millions more being produced as the years went by.

This is probably one of the most popular collectible helmets one can find today since there are many available that were kept in excellent condition.
